Corsair STRAFE RGB Review

I have been using the Corsair STRAFE RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard for more than a year now.  I have tried many gaming keyboards before, and personally I think this one is the best.  The Corsair STRAFE uses CHERRY MX switches.  CHERRY MX switches feel amazing to press down on.  Most people have chunky, membrane keyboard switches that feel cheap to press down on.  I chose the CHERRY MX Silent Switches for my STRAFE.  The Silent Switches are not really too silent or too clicky, they have their own unique sound.  It is a more quiet version of your standard mechanical keyboard click.  All CHERRY MX Switches are amazing, but when it comes to the different versions, it is up to your preference of sound.  The RGB part of the keyboard is wonderful.  The plate underneath the keys is completely white, so the colors gracefully reflect of it.  You can go from preset rainbow displays to community-made, game-based displays.  I have had a setting where my keyboard lit up every time sound on my computer played.  I have also had one where there was a unique lighting setting for each Overwatch character.  The STRAFE Keyboard also has a USB pass-through which is neat to have since the keyboard takes up two USB ports.  The arm rest that the STRAFE comes with may be plastic, but it is very comfortable.  It has saved my wrist so many times after countless hours of gaming and typing.  Overall, I would rate this keyboard a 9/10 due to its amazing keys and spectacular look.

***Unfortunately, Amazon no longer sells the silent but the Red and Brown switches are what I recommend the most***

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Review

I have been using the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard for about 7 months. It is the first mechanical keyboard that I have tried, and I have loved it so far. The mechanical feeling and the clicky response from the keys is something that I prefer way more than a membrane keyboard. This keyboard has improved my typing speed and made my gaming experience a lot better. Even with sound cancelling headphones, the click and the audio feedback help me to know when I have hit a key. I will say that after you have become very comfortable with this keyboard, typing on a membrane keyboard will probably be a bit more difficult. At first, the multimedia keys were a little bit tricky for me to use because you also had to hold the function key, but it quickly became muscle memory. Being able to adjust audio, disable the windows key while gaming, and record macros on the fly is a big advantage to using this keyboard. Although I do not have the chroma version, letting you choose from 16.8 million different colors, the green back lighting is very helpful when using the keyboard at night. With a lifespan of up to 80 million key strokes, I think that I will continue to use this keyboard for a very long time. Overall, I would give this keyboard an 8/10, and I recommend it if the noise is not an issue or if it is something that you prefer.

Nintendo Switch Review

I pre-ordered my Nintendo Switch last month and I was able to receive it on launch day.  The Switch is definitely one of the best consoles I have ever owned.  It is very convenient to be able to play on the go and at the comfort of my couch.  I have been nonstop playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it is amazing.  The game feels so immersive and fun.  I am always dying to get back to my Nintendo Switch to play Zelda.  Anyways, more about the Switch.  The Nintendo Switch is unique because it has Joy-Con.  The Joy-Con can be two separate, detached controllers, or they can attach to the main screen pad to become a controller similar to the Wii U Gamepad.  You can also take the screen and Joy-Cons out anywhere you like.  I find it very fun to play games out on the go.  It is like having a 3DS that is as powerful as a Wii U.  I am very happy with the current Nintendo Switch, and I hope they will soon make more exciting games.  If you want to purchase the Nintendo Switch and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, then check out the links below.

Razer DeathAdder Chroma Review

I am currently using the Razer DeathAdder Chroma for my gaming setup.  I have had it for around two years now, and I am quite satisfied with the product.  The DeathAdder is great for both gaming, work, and average use.  If you have used this mouse, you will find that it fits perfectly under your hand.  I have never got any hand cramps from the DeathAdder while I have gotten hand cramps from cheap Logitech mice.  Not only is it comfortable, but it is also has a great array of settings.  The Chroma edition of the DeathAdder allows you to change the color of the mouse wheel and the Razer logo.  I find this feature pretty neat because it makes your setup look cool.  You also have variety of DPI or Dots Per Inch settings.  DPI allows you to further change your mouse sensitivity which is great for gaming.  This mouse is also very responsive which is another plus for gaming.  Overall, this mouse is very affordable and highly effective compared to other mice on the market.  I totally recommend anyone who is looking for a comfortable, cool looking mouse.  I also recommend this to gamers who like to play CS:GO or Overwatch.

GeForce GTX 1060 VS 960 Comparison

So I have had both the GTX 1060 and GTX 960 for over a year now.  The GTX 960 came out two years ago while the GTX 1060 came out under a year ago.  The GTX 1060 is the follow-up card of the GTX 960.  The 60 series is known for its affordable value.  60 series cards are reasonably priced, and they still pack a punch on the most popular games.  The GTX 1070 is around $200 more than the GTX 1060, so the next best card has a huge price jump.  The 60 series is for PC gamers who do not want to go all out on their setups.

Video games are shown with frames, just like a video or a movie.  It is quite important to have a lot of frames in video games, as the game might not be fun due to it looking choppy.  Frame rate in video games decreases as you increase the graphics settings.  The game will look more beautiful on higher settings, but you are risking losing frames.  The GTX 1060 is able to run the most popular games at high graphics settings while the GTX 960 is able to run the most popular games at medium-to-low settings.  The GTX 960 is outdated compared to the GTX 1060 since it came out a year before the 1060.  Nevertheless, you will be able to play most games with the GTX 960.  The video below is a comparison of the frame rates of the cards.

I mentioned earlier how the 60 series cards are affordable.  You probably want to see the numbers.  You can purchase a low-end GTX 960 for $120 and a high-end 960 for around $160.  You can purchase a low-end GTX 1060 for $200 and a high-end 1060 for $250.  The GTX 960 is now longer in official stock, so you have to purchase it on eBay or Amazon from an unofficial seller.  The GTX 1060 however is in stock and you can purchase it from Amazon officially.

There are many different options of graphics cards.  For the most part, the brand does not really matter when it comes to buying graphics cards.  Whether its MSI or EVGA, they are all relatively similar.  What it really comes down to is amount of VRAM or video ram and increased base clock.  For the GTX 960, I recommend the 4GB version rather than the 2GB version as most games require quite a bit of VRAM on higher settings.  For the GTX 1060, I recommend the 6GB version rather than the 3GB version.  The base clock is something you can check in the specifications.  The higher the base clock, the stronger performance you have.  The base clock tends to increase as the price of the card increases.  As for amount of fans, two fans are generally better because you will be able cool off your card easier while gaming.  But if your computer can not fit a two fan card, it is still okay to get a one fan card.

Now, the real question is, “What Card Do I Purchase?”.  The best card in my opinion is the GTX 1060.  As for the brand, I recommend EVGA, MSI, and Gigabyte.  As for the certain specifications,  I recommend the 6GB version, but if you do not have money for it the 3GB version is still a good option.  I put links below of my recommended GTX 1060s, so check them out if you are interested.
